Low carbon development: the right path of petrochemical industry transformation is getting wider and wider
on November 24 this year, the latest annual report of global atmospheric monitoring released by the World Meteorological Organization pointed out that the concentration of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide reached an all-time high in 2009. In order to cope with the increasingly severe climate change situation, during the "Eleventh Five Year Plan", China has been actively promoting policies and actions to deal with climate change, and striving to build an industrial system and consumption mode characterized by low-carbon emissions. The petroleum and chemical industry is also unwilling to lag behind, and fully invested in this national action of low-carbon development, and found the positioning and coordinates in practice, and made clear the direction of its own transformation and development
during the Eleventh Five Year Plan period, the petrochemical industry has been practicing the concept of low-carbon development in the ways of energy conservation, consumption reduction and comprehensive utilization of resources. Especially since 2009, the development of low-carbon economy, especially the uneven distribution of economy, has officially become one of the important goals pursued by petrochemical enterprises. In general, the petrochemical industry has made remarkable achievements in reducing fossil energy consumption, developing renewable energy, and recycling greenhouse gases, and has made due contributions to China's realization of the "Eleventh Five Year Plan" goal of carbon emission reduction
in the past five years, the energy efficiency of petrochemical industry has been greatly improved. Relevant statistics show that the carbon dioxide emissions caused by fossil energy consumption account for about 73.79% of the total emissions. Therefore, the key to reducing greenhouse gas emissions is to start from the source - improve energy efficiency and reduce fossil energy consumption. In the current carbon emission reduction statistics, the contribution rate of carbon dioxide landfilling to carbon emission reduction is 14.7%, and that of new energy is 21%, while the contribution rate of carbon emission reduction brought by energy conservation is more than 40%. The petrochemical industry pays close attention to the big, and has made remarkable achievements in energy conservation and efficiency increase
during the "Eleventh Five Year Plan" period, the petrochemical industry has increased its efforts in energy conservation, which is an important starting point for promoting scientific development. By improving laws and regulations, increasing accountability, eliminating backward production capacity, implementing key energy-saving projects, promoting technological progress, strengthening policy incentives, strengthening supervision and management and other measures, the petrochemical industry has made significant progress in energy conservation
according to statistics, in the first four years of the eleventh five year plan, the energy consumption of 10000 yuan of industrial added value in the petrochemical industry decreased by 13.5%. According to the data released by the national development and Reform Commission in 2009, thousands of key enterprises have achieved energy savings of 132 million tons of standard coal, 132% of the energy-saving goal of the eleventh five year plan, of which petrochemical enterprises account for about 1/3. Sinopec Beijing Yanshan Branch, Shanxi Yushe Chemical Co., Ltd., Jilin fuel ethanol company, Chongqing Jianfeng industrial group company and other enterprises have achieved at least 10 times the energy saving goal of the eleventh five year plan. The energy consumption of most key energy consuming products in the industry has decreased year by year, and the gap between the energy consumption level of major energy consuming products and the advanced level of foreign countries has gradually narrowed. In 2010, the energy consumption of 10000 yuan industrial added value in the chemical industry is expected to be reduced to 2.2 tons of standard coal, a decrease of about 38.63% compared with 2005, which can exceed the energy-saving goal of the "Eleventh Five Year Plan", and the goal of reducing the energy consumption per unit GDP of the petrochemical industry by 20% can also be basically achieved
at the same time, the petrochemical industry has actively developed the use of renewable energy and oil alternative energy, and achieved gratifying results in the fields of biomass energy such as fuel ethanol and biodiesel, as well as solar energy and wind energy. At present, the national ethanol gasoline consumption has accounted for about 20% of the national gasoline consumption, and the annual production capacity of biodiesel has reached several million tons of Vikram salabayi Space Center (VSSC). After fuel ethanol, biodiesel has also entered the pilot stage to partially replace fossil diesel
during the "Eleventh Five Year Plan" period, the petrochemical industry is not only fruitful in greenhouse gas emission reduction, but also effective in carbon dioxide recycling, which has become a unique advantage for the petrochemical industry to promote the low-carbon development of the whole society. After purification and liquefaction, carbon dioxide in industrial waste gas is used as a high-efficiency oil displacement agent for tertiary oil recovery in oil fields. At present, it has been successfully implemented in the original oil fields, Jilin oil fields, Daqing oil fields and other fields with low concentration in the industry. Each ton of liquid carbon dioxide displacement agent can drive out 3 tons of crude oil
innovative achievements in using carbon dioxide to produce various chemical products continue to appear. The process route of using carbon dioxide to produce dimethyl carbonate with global warming potential equal to or less than carbon dioxide is generally favored by industry experts. Its transesterification process is currently relatively mature in China, with 0.49 tons of carbon dioxide consumed for each ton of dimethyl carbonate produced. At present, the annual production capacity of dimethyl carbonate in China has reached more than 300000 tons. In addition, the petrochemical industry is striving to build a new industrial cluster of carbon dioxide derivatives, led by the synthesis of dimethyl carbonate from carbon dioxide, and the industrial chain has been extended downward to polycarbonate, polyurethane and other high value-added products. The first 5000 t/a diphenyl carbonate plant in China built with the technology of Chengdu Institute of organic sciences has entered the stage of long-term operation, and the 10000 t/a plant software package is also being designed, laying the foundation for the non phosgene route synthesis of polycarbonate
the production of degradable plastics from carbon dioxide is also a highlight of the development of low-carbon chemicals during the "Eleventh Five Year Plan". Inner Mongolia Mengxi high tech group has built a 3000 ton/year fully biodegradable carbon dioxide copolymer production line with Changchun Yinghua Institute Technology. For each ton of degradable plastic produced, 0.45 ~ 0.5 tons of carbon dioxide can be used. The 20000 ton/year carbon dioxide based resin continuous production line of Jiangsu Zhongke Jinlong Chemical Co., Ltd., the 5000 ton/year fully degradable plastic industrialization production line of Henan Tianguan Group, and the 3000 ton/year carbon dioxide degradable plastic project of CNOOC have also been put into operation
at the end of 2009, at the world climate change conference in Copenhagen, which attracted worldwide attention, the Chinese government made a solemn commitment to the world that by 2020, the carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP will be reduced by 40% - 45% compared with 2005. Therefore, 2009 is known as China's "first year of low carbon", which has also comprehensively opened the road to low-carbon development of the petrochemical industry. During the 12th Five Year Plan period, the petrochemical industry is committed to adjusting the structure and mode, and the road of low-carbon development will be wider and wider
